CAN WAX MELTS BE USED IN ALL OIL BURNERS?

Is It Possible To Use Wax Melts In An Electric Burner?

We are often asked whether our wax melts can be used in an electric wax burner, e.g. a scentsy wax oil burner or a yankee candle wax burner.

The reason why this is a common question is because not all wax melts fully melt in these burners. This is because electric wax burners don’t get as hot as tealight burners, and some wax only melts when it reaches a higher temperature.

The good news is we have tested our wax melts in a wide range of electric burners, and we are happy to say they melt and release their fragrance beautifully in all of them!

Can Wax Melts Be Used In An Oil Burner?

CAN WAX MELTS BE USED IN ALL OIL BURNERS

Yes, wax melts can be used in all oil burners. To use wax melts, heat them on an oil burner until they melt and release their scent. Depending on how potent you wish your aroma to be, add a few wax melts to the reservoir at the top of your oil burner.

The main difference between an oil burner and a wax burner is the height, and how hot the burner dish gets.

Oil burners are generally smaller in height, and the dish reaches much higher temperatures than in a wax burner. These burners should not be used for wax melts because the overheating of the dish and wax could cause the dish to crack. This is a fire hazard because if the wax drips onto the flame of the tealight, this could start a fire.

The best way to differentiate between a wax burner and an oil burner is to look at the height of the burner. A burner for wax melts should be at least 10cm tall, and there should be a gap of at least 6.5cm inside the wax burner above the flame (also see our wax burner gift sets, snow fairy wax melts and soap sponges).

What is the difference between oil burner and wax burner?

If offered as part of a wax melt gift package containing wax melts, oil burners may be referred to as wax melt burners; otherwise, there is no difference between our oil burners and wax melt burners.

what are wax melts used for?

Wax melts, cubes, and tarts, like candles, are used to create a room-filling scent in minutes. When wax melts and candles are warmed, they exude an aroma made up of essential oils, fragrance oils, and wax. Wax melts, like candles, come in a range of forms, smells, and colours. How to burn wax melts?

Wax melts are really simple to use. Simply place one or more of your wax melts in your warmer or melter. Then light your tea light or, if you have an electric heat warmer, switch it on (also see our best wax melt warmer guide).

ou just switch off or remove the heat source after you are through using them, and the wax will harden until you are ready to use it again. Simply switch the warmer back on or light the tea light when you're ready to use it again (depending on which type of warmer you have).

Allow the wax to solidify before heating it for a few minutes to loosen it and it should pop easy out when you're ready to dispose of the old wax melts (also see do wax melts lost scents and mood melts).

How to get wax out of wax melter?

If you're wondering how to get wax out of wax melter, it is easier to remove hardened wax if your wax warmer is off because doing so will at least cause the wax to become more pliable inside the warmer and make it easier to remove as a solid piece. To avoid burning your fingers while doing this, use a scraper, and make sure to clean it off with a paper towel.
